Core Values:

People far from God

We believe God is passionate about lost people, and that members of His church family should be as well. Luke 19:5-10, 2 Peter 3:9-10

Cultural Relevance

We believe the church must – just like Jesus – be culturally relevant, while never wavering from Biblical truth. 1 Corinthians 9:19-22, John 4:1-24

Community

We believe all people crave the acceptance and security of common-unity, and that God most often changes lives in that context. Acts 2:44-47, Eccl. 4:9-12

Participating Members

We believe it should be normal, not the exception, for members to be the ministers and owners of the church vision. Romans 12:4-5, 1 Corinthians 12:27, Mal. 3:10

Christ Personified

We believe church relationships should epitomize Christ through humility, unity, love, and by sacrificially serving others. Eph. 4:15-16

Excellence

We believe that excellence honors God and inspires people when carried out with humble conviction. Col. 3:23

About the Bible

We believe the words of the Bible, in the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, are inspired by the Holy Spirit. These Scriptures are, therefore, the sole basis for our faith and practice. While Scripture was written through the instruments of chosen men, it originated in its entirety with God, so that it speaks with God’s authority as it reflects the backgrounds, styles, and vocabularies of the human authors. We believe the Bible is infallible and inerrant in the original manuscripts, and that no other writings inspired by God have the authority and infallibility of the sixty-six books of the Bible. 2 Tim. 3:16-17, 2 Pet. 3:15-16; 1 Thess. 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21

About God

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. Gen. 1:1, 26-27, 3:22, 11:7, Deut. 6:4, Ps. 90:2, Mat. 28:19, 1 Pet. 1:2, 2 Cor. 13:14

About Jesus

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, (Luke 3:22, Mk. 14:61-62) the second person of the Trinity. Jesus was fully God and fully human during His incarnation on the earth (Matt 1:23, Col 1:19;Gal 4:4). The Lord Jesus was born of a virgin (Lk. 1:27,34-35, Matt 1:25), lived a sinless life (I Peter 2:22, Heb 7:26), died on the cross for the sins of mankind (1 Cor 15:3, 2 Cor 5:21), rose bodily from the dead (Matt 28:6, Luke 24:39, I Cor 15:4), and ascended into heaven where He reigns as King at the right hand of God the Father (Acts 1:9 & 11, Acts 2:33, Phil 2:9-11, Eph 1:20, Heb 1:3). The Bible also teaches that one day Jesus will return to earth to judge both the living and the dead. (James 2:12, I Peter 1:17, Rev 20:12-13)

About Mankind

We believe that God created man and woman in His own image, and as a result all of mankind is tremendously valuable to God. We are the supreme object of His creation. Tragically, mankind is marred by an attitude of selfishness and disobedience toward God called “sin”. This sin separates us from God. Romans 3:23 explains clearly, “For all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standard”. Gen. 1:26-27, 2:17, 3:6, Ps. 8:3-6, Isa. 53:6a, 59:1-2, Eph. 2:1-3, Rom. 5:12-19, 1 John 1:8

About Salvation

Where sin is the problem, we believe Jesus offers us salvation as the perfect and only solution. Blood must be spilled as payment for someone’s sin. All sin must be punished by death. God’s perfect Son (sinless and innocent) dying in our place would be our only hope. That is exactly what He did. But three days later, just as promised and prophesied, Jesus rose from the dead to live forever. Anyone who accepts Christ’s punishment for their sins, is accepted and forgiven by God. Good works cannot save anyone from sin; salvation cannot be earned. A person is saved only by God’s grace, when they place their faith in Jesus Christ.
John 1:12-13, 3:16, 10:10, Rom. 5:8, 10:9, Eph. 1:4-5, 2:4-9, 1 Jn. 1:9, Rev. 3:20

About the Church

We believe the global church consists of all Christians and churches around the world and is comprised of many self-governing local churches. The purpose of our church is to honor God by functioning as one of His kingdom communities in our city and in our world. A healthy, biblical church views itself as Christ’s “body” which carries out His redemptive activity in a broken, hurting, dark world (Luke 4:16-19). As a local body of Christ we recognize Jesus the King as the head of our church, with all members working together (1 Cor. 12:4-27, Rom. 12:4-10) in submission to Him and serving in His power. (Mat. 16:17-18)
